The groom's haircut timeline: get it right for the photos
When to book the cut, when to shape the beard, when to do the trial run — the exact countdown so you look like yourself, at your sharpest, in photos you'll keep forever.

Wedding photos are the longest-lived photos most people ever take. The haircut is the cheapest thing in the whole production that shows in every single frame — and the timing matters more than the cut itself. Here's the countdown barbers actually recommend.
3–4 weeks before: the trial run
If you're changing anything — a new style, a beard shape, tidying a look you've had for years — do it now, not the week of. Three to four weeks gives one full grow-out cycle to adjust if it's not quite right. Never debut a brand-new look on the day.
2–3 days before: the haircut
This is the sweet spot. A haircut needs a couple of days to settle — a day-of cut looks freshly cut, a two-day cut looks like you just always look this good. Book the King's Cut or the Hair, Beard & Hot Towel for the full treatment.
The day before: the edges
Beard lines and neckline stay crisp for about 48 hours, so a day-before Royal Clean Up lands your edges at their sharpest for the ceremony. It's fifteen minutes and it's the difference between good and photo-perfect.
Bringing the party?
Groomsmen, dads and the whole crew can book together — call the shop and we'll block chairs. The nine-chair Victoria Rd room handles big groups easily. There's a full rundown on our Weddings & Events page.
One more thing: get your barber's name and rebook the same person for the day-before touch-up. Consistency is how you guarantee the result.
